Rose blinked awake to her unfamiliar surroundings. She was... Where was she? Oh! Back in the TARDIS after the Doctor had discovered a way to the parallel world! But, hold on...

She was surrounded by fluff. Cotton fluff.

"Doctor?"

Quiet.

Rose climbed out of bed -- actual climbing was needed due to the fluff -- to discover even more fluff. And she wasn't exactly sure where the door was. She couldn't help it, but she was starting to panic a bit, which seemed slightly ridiculous. But it just wasn't natural, even for the TARDIS.

"Good one, Rose. Have a freakout in the middle of a ball of fluff," she muttered.

She tried feeling her way through the fluff to the walls to find the door, but without any luck. She was suddenly happy she could breathe with all of it packed in there with her. The TARDIS must have been working overtime circulating air, which was GOOD.

"DOCTOR?"

She heard a noise from the other side of the...fluff.

"DOCTOR?!"

"Rose?"

First his face poked through the fluff, and then the rest of him came through while doing an almost graceful somersault over a particularly big fluff mound.

"Ooh, that's a bit of fun." He grinned at her as she flopped down next to him.

"*What* is with all the...the..." She waved her hand around.

"Fluff?"

"Fluff."

"Cozy, isn't it?"

"Claustrophobic, is more like it. I can't find the door!"

"Door? Who needs doors?"

Rose stared at him as the realization hit her. "Oh...my God."

"What?"

"You packed me in fluff!"

Rose recognized the look on his face. It was the one where he'd been caught doing something he hadn't really thought all the way through, and was currently working five thousand different scenarios to try and come up with a way out of it.

"Packed me in fluff like some sort of...hamster! In a tube! There are probably toilet paper rolls around here somewhere!"

"Didn't think of it like that."

"I think I'm afraid to ask what was going through your mind."

"Well...I just thought it'd be comfortable. Right, comfortable! Who doesn't feel comfortable surrounded by fluff? And I remembered your fondness for fluff... No? No fondness for fluff? Maybe it was strawberries I was thinking of. Probably should have brought you strawberries. Although, strawberries are just no good at keeping you safe..."

He stopped, seeming to realize what he just said.

"But they are tasty," he finished halfheartedly.

Rose wrapped her arms around him and kissed him -- how they never got around to that before being separated, she'd never know -- and then buried her head against his neck.

The Doctor cleared his throat. "I packed you in fluff."

Rose giggled against him. "Yes, you did."

"I can't believe I packed you in fluff."

"You definitely keep me on my toes."

"How can I make it up to you?"

Rose grinned. "I'll think of something."
